Position: Student Associate-Year Round Position

Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service and participate in general sales floor maintenance and merchandising. 

I. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Assists customers by becoming involved in their project plan, locates merchandise to facilitate completion of their project. Makes keys, cuts glass (over 18 years old only), cuts pipe, plexi-glass and carries goods to or loads vehicles with their purchases. Is able to locate stored merchandise such as grills, wheelbarrows and carts. Loads merchandise purchase upon request. Associate must gain knowledge of stocking procedures and location of merchandise inside and outside the store in order to efficiently assist customers. Associate must become certified to fill propane tanks as well as be able to fill kerosene containers. Associate may be trained to operate fork lift truck(over 18 years old only) . Heavy lifting of bagged goods (mulch, concrete, crushed stone, etc) is mandatory for this position. Associate responsible for maintaining organization, cleanliness and stocking of assigned area. Accurately stocks merchandise. Performs other related duties as assigned. 

II. SUPERVISORY CONTROL 

Under direct supervision of Sales Floor Manager or Designee 

III. TRAINING 

Must complete basic hardware training course (online) with 120 days of employment. 

IV. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS 

• Position requires individual to be available for assigned hours any hours of business.

 • Education is a priority for all students • Must complete basic hardware training course within 120 days of employment.
